The Pediatric Advisor (PA) plays a key role in the development of EGPAF
Tanzania’s pediatric focus and strategy. The PA provides technical
advise to the Technical Director and the Country Director of EGPAF
Tanzania, builds capacity of sub-grantees’ and EGPAF’s staff in neonatal
and child health, in particular in the prevention, care and treatment
of pediatric HIV, develops innovative approaches to improve the program
and acts as a valuable source of information for the MOHSW and
implementing partners while continuously advocating for high quality
health services for HIV exposed or infected children and their families.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Development and implementation of EGPAF Tanzania’s pediatric strategy
(20% of time) Continuously reviewing EGPAF Tanzania’s strategies on
neonatal and child health, with particular focus on pediatric HIV and
providing technical assistance for further improvement of EGPAF

Workstation:
The position is based in Dar es Salaam and frequent travel (max 40%) to
other parts of the country is a core requirement of this position.

Education and experience
Medical degree with a specialization in Pediatrics Extensive clinical

Vaccines Program Manager
Applications are invited from suitable candidates for the post of
Vaccines Program Manager at the Clinton Health Access Initiative, Inc.
(CHAI) in Dar es Salaam, with occasional travel throughout Tanzania and
internationally. CHAI is working with the Government of Tanzania to
support the concurrent introduction of pneumococcal and rotavirus
vaccines and to improve the country’s vaccine delivery system. CHAI will
support the Ministry of Health (MOH) to plan, execute and evaluate the
introduction of the pneumococcal and rotavirus vaccine in late 2012 and
early 2013, working closely with partner organizations, including the
World Health Organization and UNICEF. Similar programs are underway in
four other focus countries – Kenya, Ethiopia, Malawi and Nigeria.
Rotavirus and pneumococcal pneumonia currently kill approximately
800,000 children each year, with 80% of these deaths occurring in the
developing world. By scaling up the coverage of vaccines in developing
countries to 90 percent– including the new vaccines for rotavirus and
pneumococcal pneumonia – the lives of 7.6 million children could be
saved over the next decade.
CHAI is seeking a talented, highly motivated, and flexible individual to
manage CHAI’s vaccine program in Tanzania. The Program Manager will
report to the Country Director and will provide program support to the
MOH’s immunization program, in order to prepare for the imminent
introduction of the pneumococcal and rotavirus vaccines, as well as
other new vaccine introductions in the coming years.
Responsibilities: •Lead CHAI’s vaccine program in Tanzania with the aim
of supporting the Ministry of Health and its partners to introduce new
vaccines as rapidly and efficiently as possible.

OVC Technical Advisor, Systems Strengthening Project
Pact seeks an OVC Technical Advisor for an anticipated USAID-supported
program in Tanzania aimed at system strengthening through programming
focused on policy and advocacy, child protection, capacity development,
and human resources support to the Department of Social Welfare and/or
the Prime Minister’s Office. The Technical Advisor will provide overall
technical leadership for the project and will work closely with
management and other key staff to ensure technical quality, meet program
targets and milestones in accordance with work plans, and submit
high-quality deliverables. The Technical Advisor will have strong
technical expertise in the OVC and HIV sectors and related Government of
Tanzania policies and Plans of Action. Additionally, they should have

Team Leader
Chemonics seeks a team leader for the anticipated five-year, DFID-funded
East and Southern Africa Staple Food Markets Program based in Dar es
Salaam, Tanzania. The program aims to improve the functionality of
national and regional staple food market systems and increase regional
trade in foods to benefit male and female farmers, particularly poor

TB Laboratory Manager
The Department of Tropical Medicine at the Ludwig Maximilian University
Munich (Germany) is looking for a TB Laboratory Manager for its
accredited Tuberculosis (TB) laboratory at the Mbeya Medical Research
Center (www.mmrp.org). The Manager has responsibility for approximately 15 employees.
With its 180 employees the NIMR Mbeya Medical Research Center (MMRC) is
one of the largest research institutions in Africa. The MMRC conducts
operational, social-epidemiological, clinical and basic research in the
fields of HIV, TB and Malaria. It disposes of state-of-the-art
laboratory facilities for TB diagnosis, clinical infrastructure as well
as extensive cohort activities, thus ensuring the highest standard for
its manifold clinical trials.
In the area of TB studies MMRC is participating in two large scale
international drug evaluation programs (ReMoxTB and MAMS) as well as
several TB diagnostics trials. The MMRC TB laboratory provides also data
on serial colony count for the calculation of Early bactericidal
activity of novel TB drugs in phase II trials..

You’ll use your degree and/or Advanced Diploma in Vocational Training or
QTS certification to train and support both tutors and staff. Using
your experience of working in the industry and vocational training you
will provide particular expertise and training on assembling car engines
(including caterpillar or other heavy equipment) in line with
specifications and quality metrics and assembling, repairing and
maintaining engine sub-components. You’ll also know about fitting,
aligning, calibrating, adjusting and installing parts, mechanisms and
components to meet vehicle operating requirements and conducting
experimental tests on models and supervising the operation and
maintenance of the equipment.You’ll also be asked to build the capacity
of staff on delivering motor vehicle mechanics courses. You will also
participate in planning, design and administration of continuing
education courses, including conducting research, needs assessments and
consultancy projects where needed.
