2013 BNET Commonwealth Fellowship, Nigeria

-suitably qualified academics with an established record in
their chosen discipline
-from any ACU member university
-citizens of any Commonwealth country (except Nigeria)
There is no age restriction for applicants.
Any subject areas in which the University of Ibadan is
engaged are eligible for the fellowship – further information on the academic
interests of the university is available on the University of Ibadan website.
The selected Fellow will conduct an agreed work programme in
conjunction with a named department at the university – applicants should have
the endorsement of their proposed host department at the time of their
application.

Scholarship Description: One Commonwealth Fellowship
is available at the University of Ibadan, Nigeria, thanks to a specific
donation from the Britain-Nigeria Educational Trust to the CSFP endowment fund.
The BNET Commonwealth Fellowship will enable the successful candidate to
undertake a programme of teaching and research at the University of Ibadan for
a period of up to three months. The Fellowship will be tenable at any time
between November 2012 and July 2013.
Value
The BNET Commonwealth Fellowship will provide:
one return (economy) airfare
a living allowance
travel costs within Nigeria
agreed research and teaching costs (which can include
library and other research materials) for the university
The total maximum value of the fellowship is GBP 8,000. It
is expected that living accommodation will be provided by the university.
Should this not be possible on the dates selected, however, an additional
allowance of up to GBP 2,000 will be made to cover accommodation costs

Melbourne International Research Scholarships (MIRS)
The Melbourne International Research Scholarships (MIRS) is awarded to international students wishing to undertake graduate research degree studies at the University of Melbourne. MIRSs are funded by the University with each faculty having a limited number to award.
Number
Each year the
University offers about 200 new Melbourne Research Scholarships (MRSs), of
which about 150 are normally awarded to international students as MIRSs.
Benefits and
conditions
Benefits provided
by the MIRS include:
- a living
allowance of $23,728 per annum (2012 rate)
- a Relocation
Grant of $2,000 awarded to students who are moving from
interstate in order to study at the University of Melbourne or
$3,000 awarded to those who are moving from overseas
- a Thesis
Allowance of up to $420 (2012 rate) for masters by research and
up to $840 (2012 rate) for PhD and other doctorate by research candidates,
and
- paid sick, maternity and parenting leave.

You must have a UniSA supervisor willing to nominate you for consideration and outstanding academic records, and be a citizen of an overseas country eligible for entry to Australia for the time required to complete the research degree. UPS are nearly always given to doctorate by research candidates but can be given to masters by research candidates in some cases. These scholarships can only be taken at UniSA.
Scholarship Open for International Students: Yes
Scholarship Description: A UPS will cover tuition fees and Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC). The living allowance must be provided by the University of South Australia centre, school, division or institute where an applicant has applied. The minimum rate is the Australian Postgraduate Award base rate. In some cases, the living allowance may be provided by a sponsor or external funding provider. The benefits and conditions are based on those applicable to the IPRS, however, they may be amended depending on the source of the living allowance; any offer made will detail the benefits and conditions that apply. Travel expenses are not covered by the scholarship.
