The position is a leadership role and so is accountable for ensuring that the Senior Mining Engineers are supported to ensure quality delivery of plans and schedules in a timely manner that are in line with the monthly plan and budget.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Degree in Mining Engineering.
- A minimum of 10 years relevant experience in the mining industry in large open pit operations utilising excavators and large trucks.

Engineering Manager

Description
African Barrick Gold is looking to employ a dedicated, self-motivated and highly organized Engineering Manager to lead and provide technical, commercial, strategic governance / management, control and integration for the whole engineering team. Ensuring budgeted results are achieved and that engineering initiatives and activities are aligned to legal and business requirements. The incumbent will also ensure the safe and efficient operation and maintenance of all related mine facilities and equipment. The incumbent will ensure the implementation of an extensive and ongoing training and development plan to ensure the needs and objectives of the mine and greater company is achieved.
This position reports to the General Manager and will be a key member in the Senior Leadership Team to ensure that targets for resources exploitation, capital management, cost control, safe working, employee development, environmental management and corporate governance are achieved.
PROFESSIONAL AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS/ATTRIBUTES
Education Requirements:
- Tertiary qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from a recognized university
- Government Certificate of Competence as Engineer (mines and works) would be advantageous
- Management / Leadership qualification will be well regarded

-Demonstrated commitment to wildlife conservation and natural resource management.
-Experience in designing and managing wildlife management projects.
-Demonstrated ability to work effectively in remote areas, in cross-cultural situations, with diverse economic and professional background, in both public and private sectors
-Excellent verbal and written communications (English and Kiswahili); computer literacy essential. Knowledge of local languages ( Maa) is an added advantage
-A firm understanding of pastoralist customary livestock practices and community engagement
processes.
