The Overseas Development Institute offers Postgraduate
Fellowship Scheme for the Students of Developing Countries in the field
of Economics in Africa 2013/15
Study Subject(s): Innovation Economics and related subject.
Course Level: This scholarship is available for pursuing postgraduate degree level.
Scholarship Provider:
Department for International Development (DFID) in the UK, AusAID and
the World Bank Trust Fund, AusAID,the Commonwealth and governments of
the Scheme’s member countries and their trust funds.

Eligibility:
-Degree in economics or a related field -Postgraduate degree
qualification -Ability to commit to a two-year assignment -demonstrable
interest in development – relevant work or voluntary experience
-language competence for some posts (especially French, Portuguese or
Swahili) – strong IT skills.

Scholarship Description:
The Fellowship Scheme has two specific goals: To provide governments of
developing countries with high caliber junior professional economists
where gaps in local expertise exist. To provide recent postgraduate
economists with practical work experience in a developing country.
Duration of award(s): Fellowship is offered for two years.
What does it cover? Total emoluments, including local supplementation at present amount to around £21,000 p.a.
Notification: Students will be notified by late January 2013- Short-listed applicants invited to attend selection board.
