• Two years of part-time study (a combination of distance learning and face to face modes)
• The first year and one term is spent studying at least two modules online in your home country
• This is followed by study at the IOE in London (January - March 2015) during which students complete the remaining modules
• Students then return home to complete their dissertation or report
• In total students usually undertake 4 modules and a dissertation

IOE-Commonwealth Commission Scholarships
These
awards cover air fares, stipend and tuition. We are offering two such
awards for 2013/14, for candidates from Commonwealth countries.

for these programmes from the course pages, if you want to apply for a
scholarship. Details of how to apply for a scholarship are below.
Who can apply?
Candidates
are normally expected to hold a first degree at either first class or
upper second-class level. We will need to be able to confirm that
candidates are sufficiently fluent in written and oral English to pursue
their proposed studies immediately, as no pre-course English Language
Teaching is available under these awards. Candidates who have already
studied for one year or more in a developed country or who possess
sufficient resources to self-fund are not eligible for an award.
You will be asked to certify in writing that you:
i) are a national of a Commonwealth developing country, and not at present living or studying in a developed country;
ii) have not undertaken studies lasting one year or more in a developed country;
iii) are yourself, or through your family, unable to pay to study in the United Kingdom;
iv)
will return to your home country as soon as your award comes to an end.
The commission will only consider requests to extend leave to remain in
the UK post-award for those wishing to move from masters to PhD study.
Strict conditions will apply.

If you would like to apply for these awards, please use the dedicated UKPass application pathway here. Please do not use
the application buttons on the masters programme pages. If you do this,
your scholarship application will not be registered.
If
you have not used UKPass before to make a postgraduate application, you
will need to open an account. This is free. Clicking on the scholarship application linkwill take you to the relevant page.

IOE is once again partnering with the Aga Khan Foundation in Kenya to
offer 15 distance scholarships in the following programmes, for students
from Kenya,Uganda, Tanzania and Rwanda:

awards will be announced shortly by the Aga Khan Foundation in Kenya,
and the application deadline will be in early April 2013. Please
note that all applications for these awards must be made through the
Aga Khan Foundation in Kenya, and not through the IOE or the
Commonwealth Scholarships Commission.
