Mcrofinance Officer-MVIWATA Job Vacancy

Position Description:
Reports to:Team Leader, Economic Empowerment
Location:Morogoro
Duration of contract:2 years renewable on the basis of performance
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for the overall coordination, management and implementation of the savings and credits component of MVIWATA
Ensure savings and credits development and other micro-finance programme activities are implemented according to the annual work plan.
Identify the capacity building and training needs in micro-finance and cooperative development within the organization members.
Develop and implement plans for capacity building of farmer based SACCOS and similar entities.
Provide technical support as per emerging needs of farmer-based SACCOS and their networks
Monitor the performance and progress of farmer based SACCOS and their networks basing on well established indicators and feed into the MVIWATA M&E system.
Monitor the progress of MVIWATA credit fund and adherence its regulations and procedures.
Facilitate links with national financial institutions for the purpose of broadening the capacity and functioning of the farmers based financial institutions. 9. Participate as facilitator in farmers' trainingprogramme particularly on entrepreneurship
Share with the knowledge management personnel and other key stakeholders key lessons and best practices on savings and credit for documentation.
Prepare periodic progress reports as per institutional requirements
Required Qualifications
University Degree in Co-operative Management and Accounting from a recognized university
Postgraduate Diploma in Community Development (PGD-CD) or Saving and Credit Co-operative Societies Management (PGD-SACCOS) from MUCCOBS will be an added advantage
At least four (4) years experiences in relevant field
Essential competencies for all positions
Ability to work in team and complement one another
Strong interpersonal skills    
Ability to work under pressure and complete tasks on deadlines       
Excellent communication and facilitation skills  
Excellent fluency in written and spoken English and Kiswahili
Excellent writing skills (reports, articles, & publications)
Essential qualities for applicants
These should be considered as senior positions and adequate experience is a must. Candidates without the required experience need not apply farmers and adapting to the MVIWATA organizational philosophy,
all times to act in a professional and courteous manner to maintain a positive image of MVIWA'TA
Good organizational skills, ability to work in a diverse team and independently (With minimum supervision)
Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
Ability to make timely decisions and communicate effectively
Excellent fluency in English and Kiswahili both in writing and speaking is a must
Strong writing skills (reports, articles & publications) is a must
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a rural setting is a must
Result  oriented approach and thinking
