Engineering Safety Specialist

The duties include but are not limited to:
• Assist the Buzwagi Mine Engineering Department to ensure all activities meet or exceed international safety management standards, worldwide industry practice and any applicable legislative requirements.
• Assist with developing, implementing, maintaining and complying with the Barrick Safety and Health System, procedures and policies in the Buzwagi Engineering department.
• Provide visible and effective safety support to the Buzwagi Engineering department and Engineering Contractors, to ensure safe and efficient engineering practices inside their area of control and associated infrastructure.
• Assist to develop and maintain the Barrick Safety & Health Management System at Buzwagi Mine.
• Facilitate engineering related risk assessment processes and promote a risk management culture at Buzwagi Mine.

Position Description:
-The Occupational Safety and Health Authority is the sole government agency charged with the responsibility of ensuring that acceptable minimum standards of health and safety of workers are maintained at workplaces. .
-OSHA operates in Tanzania mainland and has its offices in four zones namely the Northen zone (Arusha), the lake zone (Mwanza), southern highlands (Mbeya), central zone (Dodoma) and coast zone (Dar es salaam).
-Amongst its core function, though specialized OHS inspectors, OSHA conducts statutory inspections to oversee the implementation of the OHS Act no: 5 of 2003. For this purpose OSHA is hereby looking for competent individuals to express their interest on the following jobs;
Duties and Responsibilities
Carry out work place inspections both general and civil works related, Prepare inspection reports and compile monthly, quarterly and annual reports as well as keeping records of inspections. Conduct follow-up inspections to ensure corrective measures have been implemented.

Role and Responsibilities
The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Tanzania requires the support of a contractor to conduct an end of program evaluation for the integrated Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (iWASH) program and the coastal PWANI programs). The project has two distinct tasks: an end of program evaluation of the iWASH program and an en of program evaluation of the Coastal PWANI program. The evaluations shall be undertaken concurrently due to time constraints and to align with the CDCS planning process and new design phase for the Natural Resource Management program.
dTS is looking for a Team Leader to coordinate the overall evaluation effort and be responsible for editing and final compilation of the evaluation report.
The Team Leader will be the primary contact in country throughout the data collection process. He/she will coordinate the overall evaluation effort and be responsible for editing and final compilation of the evaluation report. He/She will travel with the team throughout the data collection period. The Team Leader must have a Master’s Degree in social or natural sciences, and must have at least 10 years of experience in performing evaluations preferably in similar programs. Past experience in evaluating projects in Tanzania and/or Africa is preferred.
